Critical infrastructure reconstruction for the FTTH network: precision cooling, 480 V power and renewed DC distribution.

Grupo Arcondec carried out the FTTH 2025 reconstruction of Pachuca HUB in Pachuca de Soto, Hidalgo. The project combined power, cooling, DC distribution, room modifications and civil works to modernise the infrastructure supporting the fibre-optic network.

The project bill of quantities specifies replacement of a 30 TR perimeter unit with two 140 kW inverter precision cooling units operating in team work mode. Electrical infrastructure includes two 300 kVA step-up transformers and a 1,200 A emergency main switchboard at 480/277 V.

Arcondec’s project information confirms a four-month execution period and delivery year of 2025. Capacities and quantities described here are based on the project bill of quantities.

The challenge

The white space in an operational HUB had reached its cooling capacity limit. Equipment replacement and electrical reinforcement required coordination with the aim of maintaining FTTH service and room thermal conditions during the transition.

The Arcondec solution

Cooling. Two 140 kW perimeter precision units with inverter technology, R-410A, 480 V supply, condensers, drainage, humidification and team work configuration.

Power and protection. Two 300 kVA dry-type step-up transformers from 220 V to 480/277 V; a 1,200 A I-Line emergency switchboard, PM5500 metering and 140 kA surge protection.

Distribution. THHW feeders, bare copper, ladder cable trays, galvanised conduit and equipment grounding.

Containment. Cold-aisle and underfloor containment with doors, partitions and high-capacity perforated floor panels.

DC power. Renewal of 52 rack outputs, two 60 A Westell fuse panels with A and B supplies, bullet breakers and GMT fuses.

Room and civil works. Rack and fibre route renewal, wall, door, raised-floor and painting works, plus relocation of existing CCTV and alarms.

Coordination. Scope includes a load increase application to CFE and UVIE electrical installation verification.
